AMEE API / Calculation

The AMEE API performs calculations to determine CO2 emission amounts. There are three parts of the API that perform calculations. These are:

• The Profile Item Resource in the Profile API.
• The Profile Category Resource in the Profile API.
• The Data Item Resource in the Data Api.

Calculated CO2 amounts are only stored in Profile Items. Profiles and Profile Categories can represent multiple time-frames so storing CO2 emission amounts here is not rational.

Calculations are performed in conjunction with Item Definitions, Item Value Definitions, Data Items, Data Item Values, Profile Items, Profile Item Values and Algorithms.

Precision

All decimal values within AMEE have the following precision:

• Range: 4.94065645841246544e-324 to 1.79769313486231570e+308 (positive or negative).
• Precision: Maximum 17 decimal places in output.
